Ruth Hescock, LPC, LMHC, NCC
As human beings, we are incredibly resilient but weathering the storms of life can be difficult at times without additional support. Counseling can provide an outlet that allows us to explore our pain and gain an understanding of our true Self. I take an integrative, holistic, and trauma-informed approach to counseling. Using a warm and open approach, together we will work to discover the resources you hold within you to promote healing and growth. I have experience working with survivors of both childhood and adult trauma.

I work to help clients understand the significant impact trauma has on different aspects of life using a body-centered and relational approach. I believe the body, mind, and spirit are all interconnected and that the body can be a powerful resource that can be used to gain insight.

I draw from several models such as Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Somatic Interventions, and Psychodynamic theory. I specialize in EMDR to treat not only trauma, but also anxiety, grief, depression, and self-esteem issues. During sessions, I often incorporate aspects of mindfulness, body awareness, grounding, psycho-education, and self-care.
